- Hello, here is a reaction on your post concerning the shopping in amsterdam.
The best way to get to kalverstraat is to take a tram no.16 ,24 or 25 at amsterdam central station. the first stop is "dam square" this is also the stop you need to get off. When you get off the best is to ask somebody, everybody knows the kalverstraat. ( Just ask for the right direction to walk) it takes 1 min to walk.
Behind the damsquare there is a famous shopping mall named "magna plaza" but also tram 5. (tram 5 in front of magna plaza) If you take the tram 5, (with a coulple stops) and get off at "leidseplein" . You can walk to pc hoofdstraat. it will takes 6 min to walk. ( ask somebody for direction when you get off)
If you dont want to take trams coz you prefer walking. you can walk like this:
At Amsterdam central station --> 6 min walk to --> nieuwendijk ( also famous street ) ---> damsquare ---> kalverstraat --->1 min walk to ---> flower market---> koningsplein---> leidseplein----> pc hoofdstraat.
